Terms of Service
By creating an account or using the Homeboy app or homeboys.app website ("Service"), you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 17 years old to use Homeboy. You must provide accurate signup information. One account per person.
2. Acceptable Use
Homeboy is for organising and attending real-world activities. You agree NOT to:
- Use the app for dating, sexual solicitation, or romantic pursuit. We are not a dating service.
- Harass, threaten, or impersonate other members.
- Post or share illegal content, child sexual abuse material, weapons, hard drugs, or commercial spam.
- Create activities you do not intend to host or attend, or which exist to harvest contact information.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or automate access to the Service.
- Use the Service in violation of any applicable Taiwanese or international law.
Violation may result in immediate account suspension or termination at our sole discretion.
3. Content moderation
Every message and activity is screened by automated and human moderation. We reserve the right to remove any content for any reason without prior notice. Persistent offenders are banned.
4. User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of content you post. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and transmit your content for the purpose of operating the Service. By creating an activity or sending a message, you confirm you have the right to do so.
5. Verification
We require selfie verification to host activities, and phone verification to sign up. Misrepresenting your identity (fake selfie, borrowed phone) is grounds for immediate termination.
6. Service availability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We make no guarantees about uptime, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service with 30 days' notice (or less if required by law or security incident).
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The operator is not responsible for the conduct of any user, online or in person.
- The operator is not responsible for the safety of in-person activities. You attend at your own risk.
- The operator's total liability for any claim is capped at NT$1,000 (one thousand New Taiwan Dollars).
8. In-person safety
Activities posted on Homeboy take place in the real world. Use the same caution you would use meeting any new acquaintance: meet in public, tell a friend where you're going, and trust your instincts. Report any concerning behaviour via the in-app Report flow.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings. We may terminate your account for violation of these Terms, illegal activity, or for any reason on 14 days' notice.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan (Republic of China). Disputes will be resolved in the Taipei District Court unless required otherwise by law.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms with 14 days' notice in-app. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance.
